Breaking into Light Receives Award at Shadow & Light Exhibition

My new print Breaking into Light received the Honorable Mention Award at the Shadow & Light Exhibition at the Key West Art and Historical Society.

A New Print Makes its Debut

Breaking into Light depicts a turquoise wave breaking over dark rocks along the shoreline at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West. The long exposure captured the arc of the sea spray and the light reflected through the breaking water. I find the image both dynamic and restful in the way the light and shadow intermingle.

Shadow & Light: Island Contrast

Shadow & Light explores the expressive potential of natural light and its interaction with form, space, and material. Participating artists were encouraged to venture outdoors and observe how light transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary—casting shadows, revealing textures, and evoking emotion. The result is a deeply introspective and visually engaging collection of work that celebrates both the technical and poetic elements of art. This compelling show invites all who attend to pause, observe, and rediscover the world around them through the shifting interplay of light and shadow.
