What I love about portrait photography

I was reviewing my photos over the past year when I realized that most of them were portrait photos. Although there were still plenty of birds and seascapes, at some point my primary focus had shifted from nature to people.

Candid or posed?

Whether it’s candid or posed, a portrait photo tells a personal story. It’s a record of a moment in time. In candid photos, there’s always a story behind the moment. In posed photos, the face tells a long-term story in smiles and frown lines.

It’s the eyes

The eyes invite you in. They can express confidence, curiosity, and fun. I love making eyes the focus of a posed photo.

Making memories and boosting esteem

Portrait photos pique memories and document your journey. I love seeing people get a boost of self esteem when they see themselves in the flattering light of a professional portrait. It's a reminder of your beauty, resilience, and worth.

Stop by the studio or make an appointment for a photo session. It’s a fun investment in yourself. It’s also a great gift.
